Palm oil is an edible vegetable oil derived from the fruit of palm trees grown only in the tropics. It is used in the preparation of a variety of foods and provides various nutrients for carrying out metabolism. Crude palm oil has a deep orange colour indicative of its rich carotenoid pigments. Crude palm oil is produced from the squeezing of the fleshy fruit.
